2018 Programs

  • We offer 10 program meetings each year with expert speakers, classes, workshops, and Show & Tell. We meet at 9:45 am on the third Friday of each month, with these exceptions: 
    • In June and December, we meet on the second Friday
    • In July and August we do not meet for a program meeting
  • Snow Policy: Main Line Quilters will not meet if Tredyffrin/Easttown Schools #854 are closed
  • Also note that we meet for our Bee — a totally separate meeting — on the 1st Friday of each month.  More Information here.

Who hasn’t faced a closet full of clothes after a loss in the family. They tell such a story and yet… Linda will be talking about creating quilts with a special meaning and sharing her year-long journey through a loved one’s closet. Hers is a story of the making of quilts for family and friends left behind and sharing love and comfort in the process.

April 10              11:00          “Art Quilt Elements” at the Wayne Art Center

Members are invited to join Cindy Friedman for the “Art Quilt Elements” exhibit at the Wayne Art Center, for a lecture on the exhibit. The Wayne Art Center requests a donation for your visit.  You are on your own before/after the lecture.  Questions, contact Lori Memmen.

April 20            9:45             Sue Reno, “From Foliage to Fiber Art…and Beyond

From Lancaster, Pa, Sue Reno is an award winning fiber artist. Using a variety of techniques, she creates beautiful “art quilts reflect her local environment and incorporate imagery drawn from her studies of botany, wildlife, historic architecture, and the Susquehanna River”.

September 21   9:45         Rachel Derstine Designs, “My Quilting Journey: Boundaries and Beyond” .  Rachel is an award-winning fiber artist from Schwenksville, who creates, “Vibrant Art to Ignite the Imagination”.
