OUR 2026 PROGRAMS – Celebrating our 50th Anniversary!

About MLQ Programs and Events

  • We offer 10 program meetings each year with expert speakers, classes, workshops, and Show & Tell.
  • We generally meet for our Monthly programs on the third Friday of each month, except June, July, August, and December.  PLEASE NOTE: There may be months where scheduling changes happen and are beyond our control. Always check the programs schedule for up-to-date changes.
  • Our June and December meetings are held on the second Friday
  • In July and August we do NOT meet for a program meeting—workshops are often offered instead.
  • Also note that we meet in person at the Tredyffrin Library for our Bee (“Sew What“) — a totally separate meeting — on the first Friday of each month, all year long.
    More Information here.

New members are always welcome, visit our Membership page for details

Guests are welcome to attend monthly meetings. When we meet in person, simply pay the $5.00 guest donation at the door. When we meet via zoom, a link to register by using PayPal or a credit card for the $5.00 guest donation is presented with that meeting’s description.

About Event Formats/Venues

To remain flexible and responsive to weather concerns in winter months and conflicts with meeting room availability, MLQ MIGHT provide its usual programming events via remote access via Zoom. Be sure to check the description of each event to learn which of the following formats will apply:

  1. In person at Tredyffrin Library
  2. Strictly via Zoom. Note that for Zoom meetings ‘Show and Tell’ will be a slideshow. All images of members’ quilts must be emailed to Rosemary by Wednesday before the meeting.

Note: When Zoom is used for an event, Members and/or pre-paid guests will receive Zoom meeting invitations via email a few days prior to the session.

Leslie Henry
“The Artistry and Practice of Wellness”

In this presentation, we’ll take a brief look at the history of Chinese medicine, some of the foundational philosophic frameworks used, and how it continues to retain the integrity of its traditional practice even with dissemination around the world. Much of Chinese medicine and holistic practice is grounded in keen observation and a practical understanding of balance. Not a static concept of balance, but dynamic dimensional balance that is anchored through the individual, intentionally woven into the patterns, structures, and systems of daily life, and stitched with an awareness of the broader social, cultural and ecological fabric of the world.”

Leslie has offered to demonstrate stretches/exercises that Quilters might use after long hours of sewing.

Denise Martin
Owner, Seamless Sewing Arts, Ltd.
Phoenixville, PA

Come Hear Denise Martin’s Story of Creating a Beautiful Local Quilt Shop

Denise Martin couldn’t find the modern fabrics she liked. She also wanted a studio space where she could design and create but tall of that hat  would require paying rent, so in in October 2020 she opened Seamless Sewing Arts, a highly curated collection of  modern fabrics offered in a welcoming studio-like environment.

Denise takes pride in helping customers who don’t feel confident  about their design or color choices. In addition to providing  consulting support, she offers a wide range of in-depth courses to  develop “newbies” into highly skilled quilters and sewists.

Tucked into Denise’s studio is a classroom/design area and a long arm quilter, too! And if you  wonder what else makes her shop distinctive, Denise services, supplies, and teaches  maintenance classes for Singer Featherweight (221) owners. If you own one of these classic  straight stitchers, you know how valuable it is to have this local service. She also periodically  sells these machines, so if you are interested, contact Denise to see when one may be  available.
