MLQ Members’ Show and Tell

2023 Challenge Entries and Winners
Early each year, MLQ presents a โChallengeโ which members may respond to over the course of the year. Completed objects are anonymously presented at our December meeting. Members then vote for their favorite quilted object.
2023 Challenge – “Seasonal Inspiration“
Quilters are asked to create a quilted item that calls to mind a special time of year that you love, your one favorite season.

Every third year, Main Line Quilters presents a “Quilt Show and Holiday Boutique” in November — the weekend before Thanksgiving.โ
Consider joining our Guild in 2024 and visiting our next show in 2026.

MLQ – A Stroll Down the Aisles
MLQโs special donation to the Navajo Nationsโs sewing initiative is providing some basic sewing tools for use in sewing classes taught in a community center in New Mexico. One of our members, Maureen Lok, coordinated our involvement and helped teach classes.
Ten lucky MLQ members enjoyed a beautiful spring day at the Dupont family’s Wintertur Museum & Garden in Wintertur DE:
| Linda K | Abra | Alison | Isabel | Clara |
| Maureen L | Marie | Lori | Jody | Kathy |
The tour of quilts on display on the 7th and 8th floor, only available to view by special aarrangement, was fabulous. The tram tour through the spring gardens was just beautiful. And some members stayed to go through the self-paced tour of the 4th and 5th floors — the galleries that are the standard public tour.

We dedicate at least one meeting each year to meet and work on the various stages of creating our Pieces of Love (POL) quilts. We enjoy a long day – 10am to 3pm – in fellowship while cutting, pressing, sewing, and binding quilts for our charities. And of course, Show and Tell.
