<p>Courthouse Quilters Guild of Hunterdon County, NJ is having our biennial  quilt show October 1-3 at the Prallsville Mills in Stockton, NJ. The  mill is located on Route 29 in Stockton, NJ &#8212; close to Flemington, NJ  and the New Hope, PA area. Admission will be $7 (a portion benefits the  Delaware River Mill Society). The show will be open from 10AM to 5PM all  three days. Over 200 traditional, contemporary and children&#8217;s quilts  made by guild members will be on display at the historic mill. Raffle  tickets for our intricately pieced 83&#8243; x 96&#8243; raffle quilt, &#8220;Chinese  Fireworks&#8221; will be available for purchase at the show. There will be  many quilt-related vendors, and art &amp; handcraft boutique, door  prizes, quilt demonstrations and a mini-quilt raffle.<br />

&gt;  We will feature a special exhibit of the guild&#8217;s community outreach  projects, Bras for a Cause &#8212; an exhibit of art bras made by guild  members to benefit breast cancer patients at the Hunterdon Regional  Cancer Center; ConKerr Cancer: A Case for Smiles &#8212; cheerful pillowcases  made for ConKerr Cancer benefit seriously ill children dealing with  life altering illnesses, and Storybook Quilts &#8212; the guild&#8217;s traveling  collection of storybook and related quilts highly sought after by local  school libraries to aid in their elementary age programs. If you&#8217;d like  to donate a homemade pillowcase we will be acting as a collection site  during the show. <p>The American Quilt Study Group (AQSG), a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of quilts and quiltmaking, is turning 30! We invite you to join the celebration by participating in a nationwide block challenge called “<strong><em>30s for 30”</em></strong> (see details below). For every 30 blocks received, one person’s name will be drawn to win those blocks. <p><strong><em>30s for 30</em></strong><strong> QUILT BLOCK CHALLENGE</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Blocks must be 12-1/2” square (to finish to a 12-inch block) and made of either 1930s reproduction fabrics or vintage 1930s fabrics. Fabrics must be 100% cotton. <em>Please prewash/preshrink all fabrics.</em></li>
<li>Blocks may be any design and any color combination, in keeping with the 1930s fabrics.</li>
<li>Send your blocks to the address below, along with a donation of $3 for the first block, and $1 for each block thereafter <span style="text-decoration: underline;">sent at the same time</span>. Block donations from groups are welcome. Any funds collected in excess of those needed to complete the project will be donated to the AQSG Endowment fund.</li>
<li>The blocks will be photographed and the photos will be posted on the AQSG website, along with the maker’s name and state (or country).</li>
<li>Blocks will be compiled into sets of thirty. At Seminar 2010 in Minneapolis (Oct. 14-17), we will have a drawing for the various sets.  For each block that you send, your name will be entered once into the drawing. You do not need to be present to win.</li>
<li>Deadline for submitting blocks is Oct. 1, 2010.</li>
</ul>
